Congratulations to the successful Northern Ireland June 2024 Common Registration Assessment candidates

We are delighted to announce that 91.8% of Northern Ireland candidates who sat the Common Registration Assessment (CRA) on 25 June 2024 have passed the assessment.

This is an impressive result, which reflects the hard work and dedication of the trainee pharmacists.

The CRA ensures that trainees have the knowledge and skills to practice safely and effectively. Passing the CRA is a vital element of being eligible to apply to join the register of pharmacists.

This summer’s NI pass rate of 91.8% compares favourably with the pass rates for the summer 2023 and 2022 CRA, which were 92.7% and 83.4% respectively.

Pharmaceutical Society NI President, Dr Geraldine O’Hare said:

“Congratulations to all the successful candidates in this summer’s Common Registration Assessment.

“Your achievement is a testament to your talent and hard work during your university studies and foundation training year, especially amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic.

“We are delighted that you have been successful in the assessment to become a practising pharmacist and look forward to welcoming you onto our register.

“Well done to you all!”

As well as celebrating these fantastic results for the candidates, we would also like to thank and celebrate others who have been involved in the journey to help the trainees to this point in their careers.

To the educational supervisors on site and the foundation training year leads at NICPLD, we would like to thank you for the time and wealth of knowledge that you invest in the future of the pharmacy profession. Your dedication is essential to the profession progressing, and the support that is offered to every trainee is evident.

Finally, to each trainee’s family, friends, university lecturers and former teachers – please know that you have all played a vital role in nurturing these young adults to flourish with the confidence and compassion to serve their communities for years to come.
