CPD Framework

The new CPD Framework was launched on 01 June 2021, and revised in March 2024.

It articulates the standards and rules governing the CPD process from CPD Year 2021/22 onward.

Registrants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new Framework and the requirements for CPD cycles and portfolios moving forward, and to review the Annual CPD Portfolio – a Guide to Completion Submission and Assessment

Early CPD Requirements:

Early CPD requirements will apply to those applicants who fall into the following categories:

• a pharmacist applying for restoration to the Register, having previously been removed from the Register for non-compliance with the CPD Framework;
• a pharmacist applying to re-join the Register, having voluntarily withdrawn from the Register during a previous CPD year but having failed to submit a CPD portfolio for that year;
• a pharmacist applying to rejoin the Register, having not been registered as a pharmacists within the last 12 months.

Dual-Registration: Registrants who are ‘dual-registered’ (that is, registered with more than one pharmacy regulatory body) must comply with the CPD requirements of each registering body.

Preparation for portfolio submissions – Annual Portfolio, Reassessment 1 & Reassessment 2: Registrants are advised to review the Annual CPD Portfolio – a Guide to Completion Submission and Assessment and to review their cycles against the Consensus Guidance and Feedback Statements.
