Pharmacist Mark McCrudden has been appointed as the new Vice President of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society NI.
Mark qualified as a pharmacist in 2009, working initially in community pharmacy, before gaining experience in hospital pharmacy, GP practice pharmacy, and regional pharmaceutical procurement.
He is currently the Assistant Director of Unscheduled Care at the Northern Trust.
Mark has served as a Registrant Member of the Council since 2019 being reappointed in April 2023.
Speaking about his appointment, Mark said:
“It is an honour to be appointed as the Vice President at this important and exciting time for the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland, and I will embrace this opportunity to work closely with my registrant colleagues in this key role.
I look forward to what promises to be a momentous centenary year for the Society in 2025, and to exciting and challenging transformations in the profession here in Northern Ireland in the near future.”
Congratulating Mark on his appointment, the President of the Council, Dr Geraldine O’Hare said:
“I am absolutely delighted that Mark has accepted the role of Vice President of Council and having worked with Mark on Council and also on several Council Committees as a registrant member, he brings tremendous experience, leadership and insight that is invaluable to the Society, and I look forward to working with him over the coming months and years”.
Mark will serve as Vice President until the end of his term on the Council in 2027.
